Biography
Enita Luhtaniemi is a Finnish-Australian Artist based in Canberra - working on Ngunnawal Land.
Her work is deeply influenced by intergenerational culture and heritage, and inspired by nature, landscapes and weather. She likes to study the play of light v dark to convey mood, time or movement.
She works primarily in acrylic paint, combining different techniques with brushes, palette knife and fingers. This means that work shifts from at times feather-light, such as the depiction of soft clouds or fogs, to choppy, even harsh textures in frosts, rocks, trees or grasses.
A quietly emerging, introspective, yet professional part-time artist, Enita has exhibited and sold works in both Australia and Finland.
What's with the name? A word from the Artist.
"Ghostwriter" art is the name for the business and social media aspects of my art. It is not who I am, but holds a relevance and history. I was a professional writer, for many years by trade and craft. Words with purpose are important to me, as are the stories they convey. Art is another medium for storytelling. Ghosts have become symbolic of the blurring between different selves - professional, family, creative. There is a whimsy to their ties with the spirit of nature and connection with past and present.

Shows and Exhibitions
I was delighted to hold a Solo Show at Tyger Gallery in Yass NSW from 6 to 15 March 2026.
My next solo exhibition will be at The Front Gallery from 31 July to 13 August.

Inspirations - Landscapes and Culture
Nordic landscapes of Finland, Norway, Iceland, Denmark and Sweden evoke a pristine and primal beauty and serenity. They can be both gentle and unforgiving.
The warm glow of a lakeside fire or a dim light from a cabin window. A cold and gently rippling freshwater lake. A coniferous forest bathed in fog. A vibrant sunset stretched out over quiet lands.
Winters of ice and snow with legions of pines, towering and waiting. Springtime dotted with flowers across melting meadows. Summers with a midnight sun and forest floor abound with berries. Autumns where white birch trees blanket the ground in golden leaves.
The semi-alpine, cool climates of Canberra where the Artist lives, hold similar evocations. As snow gums stand on frost-covered gold fields on misty mornings.

Art Sale Enquiries

If a piece you've seen at a show, on the online gallery or store interests you, please drop me an email. A direct piece allows you to see exactly what you are getting, and to get it soon! I am happy to conduct direct sales online and to ship within Australia.
Serious commission enquiries are on occasion accepted for review. This enables you to order a piece that suits yours tastes and sizing requirements. Things you might like to consider: colour scheme, subject matter, canvas or canvas board, shape e.g. portrait, landscape or square, and size - from larger pieces to fill a wall space, to small pieces to display on a shelf. Please keep in mind that the piece will need to be done within the scope of the Arist's body of work and style. Availability depends on many factors such as timeframe and shipping location. Not all commission requests are accepted. All commissions must enter into an agreement on price, timing and distribution. For more information, contact EA Luhtaniemi using the contact form.
