Nordic Echo - The Front Gallery ACT

My second solo show for 2026, Nordic Echo at The Front Gallery in Lyneham ACT was a success. On open night, Friday 31 July, around 40 friends, family, art lovers, and community members joined us for an intimate and casual evening of art, nibbles and mingling. Many more trickled through over the next fortnight.

I was particularly chuffed to have so many members of the Finnish community show up - it was lovely to hear their connection with the pieces and the show itself. Comments such as "You've really captured the way Finland looks and feels", or "these remind me just of the start of spring every year" and "it brought back memories of my last trip", will sit with me happily for a long while. It was also lovely to welcome members of the broader community, including Scandiphiles from the Australian Scandinavian Society, and art appreciators who popped in because they'd seen it advertised. The lovely duo from Experience Canberra showed up for a casual little interview, and they have done a generous little write up and video for Instagram which you can see on my @ghostwriterart account.

From a professional perspective, it is not only a privilege to have an opportunity to show my art, and build on my exhibition experience, it is also a boon to have an avenue for art sales. In total, nine pieces sold during Nordic Echo - to all sorts of buyers. These have now been delivered and I am, as always, truly hopeful that they go on to bring calm and a Nordic touch to the spaces they will live in. Thank you to all my buyers always. I do believe they are taking home a quality, durable piece that has been lovingly created and prepared.

As I did in my little speech on the night, I do want to offer some thanks. I would like to express my gratitude to the Finnish Embassy in Australia for helping promote the show to their network - it resulted in many new attendees. I expressly want to acknowledge the lovely team at The Front Gallery - Harry and Sophie for their support, kindness and dedication to Canberra arts.

A big thank you to my father for his incredible framing efforts. Many of the pieces were bordered in beautifully handcrafted, sustainable Australian oak frames. They were hung with a European inspired wide float border, to allow them room to breathe and account for wrapped edges.

Thank you to my beautiful friends and family for their support and assistance - from making cookies, to printing labels, taking photos and cheering me on.

And most of all thank you to my children. They are my most unwavering fans in life, and I theirs. They allow me to pursue this art practice alongside all of our other life demands.

So with all that said, Nordic echo has come down off the walls, but moved on to an abbreviated display which I am calling an 'encore' at Two Before Ten Cafe in Dickson ACT. This means in total, Nordic Echo will have run from 31 July to 26 August.
